CLE: All course materials and Georgia BAR fees are included. CLE will be held May 2 and May 3, 2010 (3 hrs per day). Remaining 6.0 CLE course credits are self study and must be completed by Jan 31, 2011. We have scheduled the CLE course hours to give you maximum vacation time during your stay.

What you need to know to insure defensible electronic evidence. What you should be looking for in your discovery and how to decipher what you find. How to deal with litigation holds. Learn about recent decisions in federal courts and the impact they'll have on the lesser courts. 

Electronically Stored Information and electronic discovery have literally changed the way we practice law. Find out what the new rules are and how they apply to you. This e-Discovery 101 is a general overview for any lawyer wanting to learn the world of electronic evidence. We'll  learn the Basics of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) and examine court opinions where technology was used in some situations and not used in others. The course material outlines technology for collection, processing, and culling of electronically stored information. Document & ESI review strategies are outlined for discussion. We'll discuss META Data: What you don't know about Meta Data can hurt you!  We'll cover requests for production, form of production, special interrogatories, meet & confer requirements and prerequisites for collection of hard drives. The course addresses the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, a definition of ESI terms, and the watershed e-Discovery cases. We'll discuss Litigation Holds and the Duty to preserve evidence and much more.

A look at the amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure governing electronic discovery which took effect on December 1, 2007.
