"What's the META with E Discovery"eDiscovery and discovery of electronic files has become a part of the discovery process in both large and small cases.  However, like most new things, it presents new kinds of ethical issues for lawyers on both sides of the discovery.  Did you know that when you provide the opposing party with original electronic documents, you may be providing them with information you didn't plan on?  Did you know the e-discovery you receive could have otherwise privileged information appended to the file?  Meta data helps keep documents organized and searchable and can give your and your clients a way to track document changes, who has touched a document, and append comments.  However, just because you can't see this data on the document doesn't mean these pieces of information aren't part of the documents you send out electronically.  This session will help you understand some of the ethical dilemmas of Ediscovery and how to deal with them.
